University Visit

The University of Melbourne Visit

In the afternoon of June 7, 2016, Ms. Gong Ailing, Admission Officer in The University of Melbourne, visited our school. Firstly, she visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then she learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Ms. Gong Ailing held talks with our school counselors, exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.

Ms. Gong Ailing also gave a lecture introducing details of The University of Melbourne, including geographical location, cultural environment, faculty, program, and course setting, to our students, who further learned about the university by watching the university’s short video.

 

 

Cornell College Visit

In the afternoon of April 13, 2016, Mr. Jonathan Brand, Principal of Cornell College, visited our school. Firstly, he visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then he learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Mr. Jonathan Brand held talks with our school counselors to exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.

University of Pittsburgh Visit

In the morning of March 21, 2016, Ms. Qianyi Chen, Admission Officer in University of Pittsburgh, visited our school. Firstly, she visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then she learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Ms. Qianyi Chen held talks with our principal, Dr. Peng Wang, exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.

Ms. Qianyi Chen also gave a lecture introducing details of University of Pittsburgh, including geographical location, cultural environment, faculty, program, and course setting, to our students, who further learned about the university by watching the university’s short video.

University of Missouri Columbia Visit

In the morning of March 7, 2016, Mr. Ragh Singh, Associate Vice President and Executive Director of University of Missouri Columbia Admissions Office, visited our school. Firstly, he visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then he learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. University of Cincinnati Visit

In the afternoon of September 24, 2015, Mr. Charlie Schwartz, Associate Vice President and Executive Director of University of Cincinnati Admissions, visited our school. Firstly, he visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then he learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Mr. Charlie Schwartz held talks with our principal, Dr. Peng Wang, to exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.

University of San Diego Visit

Case Western Reserve University Visit

In the morning of October 14, 2015, Ms. Megan Goodman, Admission Officer in Case Western Reserve University, visited our school. Firstly, she visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then she learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Ms. Megan Goodman held talks with our school counselors to exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.

University of Toronto at Mississauga Visit

In the afternoon of November 16, 2015, Ms. Li Ting, Admission Officer in University of Toronto at Mississauga, visited our school. Firstly, she visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then she learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Ms. Li Ting held talks with our principal, Dr. Peng Wang, exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.

Boston University Visit
In the afternoon of September 10, 2014, Ms. Kelly A. Walter, Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Boston University Admissions, visited our school. Firstly, she visited our teaching building, campus, and playground. Then she learned about our extracurricular activities by viewing exhibits in our gallery. After the visit came to an end, Kelly A. Walter held talks with our principal, Dr. Peng Wang, to exchange perspectives and ideas on student education.
Ms. Kelly A. Walter also gave a lecture introducing details of Boston University, including geographical location, cultural environment, faculty, program, and course setting, to our students, who further learned about the university by watching the university’s short video.
The reason Kelly A. Walter came to our school is that seven our 2014 graduates left a good impression on Boston University when they attended that university as students.
 
University of Colorado-Boulder Visit
The delegation from the University of Colorado-Boulder visited our school on May 27, 2014.
The American delegation is made up of Mrs. Deb Coffin, Vice Chancellor in charge of Student Affairs, Ms. Natalie Koster, senior associate director of International Student Enrollment Office and He Liping, a parent representative. In the meeting with our administration staff, Mrs. Coffin introduced the latest developments at Colorado-Boulder and our staff exchanged cultural and academic perspectives on education. Ms. Natalie Koster also made a presentation about their new programs. In the mean time, Mrs. Coffin spoke highly about our graduates who are now studying at the University of Colorado-Boulder and expected more students would apply for their university in the future.
Binghamton University
On October 15, 2014, Changping New Oriental Foreign Languages School invited Chen Xuan, student enrollment representative of the Binghamton University-State University of New York, to give a lecture to the current 12th graders. Chen Xuan introduced Binghamton University’s history, faculty, program, course contents, scholarship, and employment information in details and offered suggestions to teachers on how to write an effective recommendation letter. Our senior high school students in the third academic year were present at the lecture.
Established in 1946, Binghamton University-State University of New York is one of top 100 public universities in the United States of America, known as Ivy League of Public Universities. Now the university has more than 14,000 students and provides bachelor programs (e.g. Management, Accounting), master programs (e.g. MBA and Master of Accounting), and doctoral programs (e.g. Management).
University of California, Irvine
On November 20, 2014, Ms. Karen Tong, Student Enrollment Officer of the University of California, Irvine, visited Beijing Changping New Oriental Foreign Languages School and she exchanged ideas, educational information and cultural perspectives with our senior high school students in the second and third academic year and answered their questions.
Firstly, Karen Tong introduced the University of California, Irvine and the University of California system, including date of establishment, number of branch, total number of students, campus area, etc. Moreover, she stressed the four aspects to be investigated by applicants, i.e. program setting, geographical location, size, and campus culture. Meanwhile, she encouraged students to apply to more universities so as to increase the possibility of being admitted. Our students asked her some questions regarding program, examination result requirement, and campus life, which she was happy to give answers to.
